US Election 2020: Poll puts Oprah Winfrey 10 percentage points ahead of Donald Trump

He said: “Yeah I’ll beat Oprah. Oprah would be a lot of fun.”

However, an opinion poll carried out by Rasmussen shows that the Winfrey holds a lead over President Trump of 48-38.

The other 14 per cent said that they did not know which candidate they would vote for.

On Sunday night, Winfrey gave a speech as she accepted the Cecile B. DeMille award at the Golden Globes that many saw as her throwing her hat into the ring for a run at the White House.

Brian Stelter of CNN said that two “close friends” of Winfrey claim that she is “actively thinking” about standing.

Yahoo said: “The latest Rasmussen poll shows Oprah with a 55 percent general favourability, and 27 percent ‘very favourable’ rating.”

Rasmussen surveyed 1,000 likely voters on Monday and Tuesday. Their margin of error is three percentage points.
