Camila Cabello finally responds to THAT Fifth Harmony VMAs dig: ‘It hurt’

Cabello split from the girlband in late 2016 in what seemed to be a very acrimonious departure.

By the summer, the now-quartet were promoting their new material, and took to the stage at the MTV VMAs for a generally lauded performance.

What really turned heads, however, was the fact that the performance opened with five silhouetted figures on stage, not four – the fifth representing Cabello.

She was seen falling from the stage, as if she had been pushed or even shot, before the lights came up fully and the four remaining members began singing.

Now, as her debut solo album nears its release, Cabello has addressed it in a new interview.

“It definitely hurt my feelings,” she said, in an interview with the New York Times.

“I wasn’t expecting it, I wasn’t prepared for it – especially because at that point I’d moved on from it.

“I was just like, ‘What? Why?’”

She added: “I have to make space for the good stuff to happen in my life.

“I don’t like holding onto the past, especially when it’s stuff that, in my opinion, is just petty.”

Fifth Harmony’s third album, their first without Cabello, charted inside the Top 5 in the US last summer. Cabello’s single Havana amassed five weeks at No1 in the UK.

Her debut album Camila is out tomorrow.
