Zinedine Zidane all-but admits Barcelona will win La Liga title after Real Madrid draw

Real Madrid were held to a 2-2 draw at Celta Vigo this evening which means they are now 16 points behind top-of-the-table Barcelona.

Real are fourth in the table and are in danger of being overtaken by fifth-placed Sevilla, who are only three points behind.

Zidane has come under increasing pressure as Los Blancos continue to struggle in their title defence.

And he has asked to stop speaking about challenging for the championship because Barcelona are so far ahead at the summit.

Ernesto Valverde’s side are nine points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid and look well on course for securing the silverware.

“We do not talk about La Liga,” Zidane said,

“We’re not going to talk about La Liga every week.

“If we lose points every week, we can not get close.

“You have to go match by match.”

Zidane also insisted that his players were angry after they conceded the equaliser against Celta Vigo eight minutes from time.

“We’ve talked to each other, we’re a little angry, normal, you have to be angry with the second part,” Zidane added.

“We can not be happy with the result, we were able to make a better game, especially a better second part, we did not manage to do 90 good ones.

“In the second half there was a team in front that maybe made the pressure better, we failed to get the ball out.”
