Tottenham 3 AFC Wimbledon 0: Harry Kane double fires Spurs into FA Cup fourth round

Tottenham went into today’s game against AFC Wimbledon aiming to bounce back after their 1-1 draw with West Ham in midweek.

And, not for the first time this season, it was the brilliance of Kane that made all the difference.

The England international started up top put Wimbledon the sword with a fine double.

The striker opened his account for 2018 in the 63rd minute, tapping in from close range after good work from Moussa Sissoko.

And Kane did not have to wait long for his second.

Just a minute later, the forward again got on the scoresheet by prodding home after Kyle Walker-Peters’ shot deflected into his path.

Jan Vertonghen also got on the scoresheet late on with a fine strike.

Tottenham will now be in the pot for the fourth round draw tomorrow evening.

Spurs last won the FA Cup in 1991, where they beat Nottingham Forest in the final.

And Mauricio Pochettino’s side have gone 10 years without a trophy of any kind.

Tottenham last scooped silverware in 2008, when Juande Ramos was in charge.
