Android 8.0 Oreo update now available for OnePlus 5T, here’s how to download

OnePlus owners are a step closer to Android 8.0 Oreo.

The latest mobile operating system is now available in an early beta on OnePlus 5T.

The update follows a similar beta release for and back in November 2017.

Android 8.0 Oreo includes picture-in-picture functionality, enabling users to continue watching a video while using another app.

There are also new battery life improvements, better auto-fill options and notification indicators on app icons.

OnePlus has also redesigned its Quick Settings dropdown for the new operating system upgrade.

The ability to upload photos to Shot on OnePlus from the phone itself has also been added.

OnePlus allows anyone to join its Open Beta Program and manually sideload the latest Oreo beta.

The Android 8.0 Oreo update is not yet available as an over-the-air update.

OnePlus 5T owners should be aware that since this is beta software, it may be unstable and likely contains a number of glitches, incompatibilities and bugs.

If you’re using the OnePlus 5T, OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T or OnePlus 5 as your primary device, it’s probably best not to install any of these beta releases.

Thankfully, the fact OnePlus is already pushing out Android Oreo betas is a solid indication the fully-featured public launch isn’t too far away.

For those who want to take a risk on the beta, here are all of the changes included in the new upgrade.
