Steam Sale end: Winter Sale 2017 COUNTDOWN begins for PC games downloads

The Steam Winter Sale 2017 has been running for quite sometime but will soon end.

The deals that have been available since December will end officially on January 4, 2018.

The official Steam Sale countdown shows that there are only 22-hours left for gamers to be browsing for their favourite games.

And that mean that things will be going back to normal at around 6pm, GMT.

Valve have also posted this disclaimer, confirming: “Discounts end January 4th at 10am Pacific, unless otherwise indicated.”

Valve haven’t said whether they have some special deals planned for the last day, or if they will continue with the usual daily refresh.

Players can still grab deals on titles such as Grand Theft Auto V, Witcher 3, Cuphead, Dark Souls 3, Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition, Civilization 6 and Rainbow Six Siege.

But like with past Steam Sales, there has been no drop in the popular Battle Royale game, PUBG, which remains a top seller despite the normal price.

The big gaming platform recently revealed their official best of 2017 lists for those interested in which titles dominated PC gaming last year.

“We started by looking at the top-sellers again. We ran the numbers to come up with the list of the games that earned the most revenue during 2017, including all forms of Steam revenue; game sales, in-game transactions, and DLC.

“So, like last year, the resulting list includes a mix of free-to-play games as well as premium games,” a Valve statement reads.

It should be noted that specific revenue for the lists are not disclosed, but the leading sellers are broken into the following four categories to give an idea of how they placed:

  • Platinum: The first thru 12th best seller
  • Gold: 13th – 24th best seller
  • Silver: 25th – 40th top seller
  • Bronze: 41st – 100th top seller

The top Platinum ranked games includes

  • CS: GO
  • Rocket League
  • ARK Survival Evolved
  • Dota 2
  • PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
  • The Witcher 3
  • Warframe
  • GTA 5
  • H1Z1
  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • Divinity 2: Original Sin
  • Ghost Recon Wildlands

The last Steam sale was the Steam Autumn sale, and before that there was the Steam Halloween sale and the Steam Summer sale.

Deals in the Steam Autumn sale included money off Resident Evil 7, Dark Souls 3, Rainbow Six Siege, Fallout 4 and Shadow of War.

Valve don’t ever officially reveal when the next Steam sale is coming and it could be awhile before new deals pop up on such a large scale.
