Pokemon Go Christmas event end date, time REVEALED, as weather effects disappear

Pokemon Go’s Christmas event is coming to an end soon, so you’d better hurry if you want to capture Festive Pikachu.

As part of the Christmas event, fans will encounter additional water and ice-type Pokemon, as well as special Pikachus wearing Santa hats.

Players can also pick up a selection of item bundles from the in-game store.

This includes the Winter Box, the Great Box and the Ultra Box.

Winter Boxes contain four Lucky Eggs, two Premium Raid Passes and five Star Pieces. Great Boxes feature two Super Incubators, eight Lucky Eggs, Premium Raid Passes and ten Star Pieces.

Ultra Boxes, meanwhile, contain six Super Incubators, 16 Lucky Eggs, ten Premium Raid Passes and 20 Star Pieces.

Unfortunately, however, you only have until 9pm UK on January 4 to participate in the Christmas event.

The news comes as Niantic investigates issues with the dynamic weather system in Pokemon Go.

The newly released weather system lets players earns bonuses and discover additional Pokemon based on the current weather.

Unfortunately, however, the weather system doesn’t appear to be working as intended.

“We’re currently investigating an issue which is preventing Trainers from experiencing the dynamic weather system in Pokémon GO,” reads a Niantic tweet. “Thanks for your patience as we work on a fix.”

In the meantime, the weather icon is missing from the game, and bonuses aren’t available.

And speaking of dynamic weather, Niantic has addressed issues with dangerous weather.

Weather bonuses are currently removed if weather warnings are issued throughout the world. This led to some players missing out on bonuses, even if they weren’t in any danger.

But a new update has given players the chance to confirm that they are safe, which keeps the weather system intact.

The ‘I am safe’ button is especially good news for anybody in locations with frequent weather issues that are deemed “extreme” by Niantic.
