Destiny 2 Servers DOWN: New update and maintenance for PS4 and Xbox One

Bungie will be taking Destiny 2 servers offline later today to make way for a new PS4, Xbox One and PC update.

Hotfix 1.1.1.2 is being deployed to help iron out the lingering bugs from the launch of the game’s first DLC, as well as other problems left over from launch.

Update notes have not been shared ahead of time, although there’s still plenty to be done when it comes to weeding out ongoing issues.

As usual, Bungie will be blocking any new logins to the game from 3pm GMT, which is when the maintenance is set to begin.

By 4pm, players still in Destiny 2 activities will be returned to the title screen and could be locked out of the game for quite some time.

The Destiny 2 servers won’t be back online until around 8pm GMT, which is when Hotfix 1.1.1.2 will be available to download.

If the most recent update is not available for download, players may be required to fully turn off their console and sign in once more for the update to become available.

Players may also encounter the SHEEP error code when they attempt to join a Fireteam in which any member has not updated to the latest version of Destiny. To resolve this issue, all players will need to close Destiny 2 and install the latest update.

It should also be noted that Sign-in functionality and other Destiny Companion services on the Mobile App, Bungie.net, and third-party sites will also be restricted or unavailable during the Destiny Server maintenance period.

As mentioned above, Bungie have not confirmed what exactly will be changing with the latest update.

It follows news that Destiny 2’s next DLC expansion may have been leaked on PSN.

New details of the Destiny 2 Gods of Mars expansion were posted online, which is alleged to have leaked on the Japanese PlayStation Store.

According to the alleged leak, DLC 2 will transport players to a new location called the Frigid Vale of Mars, where Rasputin is said to be imprisoned in an ancient vault.

Destiny 2 Expansion II: Gods of Mars sends your Guardian on a long journey to a brand new destination – the Frigid Vale of Mars, with an array of new missions, adventures, and enemies to fight,” the post reads.

“Charlemagne has reawoken on Mars and has imprisoned Rasputin within an ancient vault. Work with the elusive Ana Bray – long thought to be dead, in order to combat Charlemagne’s Remnants, free Rasputin, and uncover the secrets of Clovis Bray.”

The expansion is said to contain new missions, new themed weapons, armour and gear, as well as new co-op activities, new multiplayer maps and additional bosses and enemies.

It’s unclear if the leak is real or fake, but Bungie is expected to reveal more in 2018.
