Beyonce, Eminem and The Weeknd to headline Coachella

The singer is to top the bill of the Californian event alongside Eminem and The Weeknd, it has been announced.

Beyoncé, 36, was to headline last year but stepped down on the advice of her doctors to keep a less demanding schedule and was replaced by Lady Gaga.

The former Destiny’s Child star and her husband Jay Z welcomed twins Rumi and Sir Carter in June.

Beyoncé will close both Saturdays of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which takes place over two weekends in April in Indio, California.

Eminem, one of the biggest Grammy Award-winning rap artists of all time, returns to Coachella on Sunday.

He made a guest appearance with Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg in 2012 in a set that featured a hologram of Tupac Shakur.

Other acts include Jamiroquai, King Krule, The War On Drugs, David Byrne and Fleet Foxes.

Tickets, which start at $429 (£316), go on sale at 8pm UK time on Friday. The Festival Pass and Shuttle Combo is $504. VIP Festival Passes are $999 and VIP parking is $150.

Coachella has been regarded as the top outdoor music event since it began in 1999. It has been recently named the Billboard Top Festival of the Year.

It grossed a record $114million in 2017, the first time a festival has past the $100million mark at the box office.
