Match of the Day pundit Alan Shearer makes big claim about Liverpool star Mohamed Salah

Salah’s second-half double completed a dramatic Liverpool comeback as they came from behind to win 2-1.

The Egyptian, a £37million summer signing from Roma, now has 17 goals this season with only Harry Kane, who has 18, scoring more.

But Shearer thinks Salah could have been top of the pile had he been wearing his finishing boots on Saturday.

He said on Match of the Day: “He’s been absolutely fantastic, it was his show.

“He could have had five or six goals – that was the impressive thing about him.

“He got in so many good positions. He can play anywhere across that frontline, whether it’s down the left, right or through the middle.

“You can’t go anywhere near him now, you can’t touch him. His balance is superb.

“He’s so quick, the second goal had everything, strenght, precision, power pace and accurancy with the finish.

“That’s what has won them the game.

“17 goals in 21 Premier League games, £37million is an absolute bargain.”
