Sir Paul McCartney among six UK acts to feature in top 10 list of moneymaking tours 2017

Sir Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones and Depeche Mode also feature in the list for the most lucrative live shows.

The UK success for our performers comes against stiff competition from some of the biggest live acts hitting the road.

U2 were the biggest winners thanks to their Joshua Tree Tour which made £233million, as they performed 51 shows to over two million fans.

Chris Martin’s Coldplay come in third on the list, raking in £176million from their current run.

Depeche Mode also made their way onto the list in sixth place, thanks to 1.8million fans buying tickets to earn them £104million.

Sir Paul McCartney made £97.6million from 36 shows, at an average ticket price of £108.

Macca takes seventh place on the list, followed by man of the moment Ed Sheeran, 26, whose 111 shows landed him £91.7million.

The Rolling Stones pulled in £88.8million from just 14 dates, taking ninth place, with an impressive £116 paid per seat.
