Star Wars Last Jedi: Gary Barlow’s cameo finally CONFIRMED – and he’s NOT a Stormtrooper

Initially he insisted he wasn’t playing a Stormtrooper, until a report claimed he, Prince Harry and Prince William  would be dressed head-to-toe in white while Finn was captured by the First Order.

The Royals were thought to have ended up on the cutting room floor, but little else has been heard of Barlow – until now.

Rogue One director Gareth Edwards has confirmed that Barlow is in the finished edit.

He’s a Resistance fighter on Crait, a scene that also boasts a clear shot of Edwards.

“I went into this trench and I had no idea what was going on, and I looked to my right and it’s Gary Barlow,” he told Fantha Tracks.

“I think his wife or girlfriend was there as well.

“You start looking down the line, it was a bit like ‘I’m a rebel, get me out of here’.”

Take That star Barlow had posted a couple of tweets from his time on-set, including one of him inside the Millennium Falcon.

He also shared snaps alongside the likes of R2-D2 and Chewbacca, jokily calling them his “co-stars”.

The Last Jedi has been a box office smash since its release, although the fan reaction has been somewhat divided.

Star Wars 8 is out now.
