Eden Hazard: Antonio Conte reacts to Real Madrid transfer rumours over contract rejection

Thierry Hazard revealed in an interview with Le Soir earlier today that his son had rejected a new contract from Chelsea.

He went on to suggest that Eden Hazard is holding out for an offer from Real to weigh up his options.

Zinedine Zidane and Florentino Perez have been long-term admirers of the Belgium international and the Real boss has publicly praised Hazard in the past.

But when Conte was pressed about Hazard’s father and his comments suggesting he could be seeking a move to the Spanish capital, the Chelsea boss instead chose to respond by stating how pleased he is to work with him.

“My answer is always the same: This is a private conversation between the club, the player & his agent,” Conte said.

“I’m proud to have him in my team, in my squad, & I’m very happy to work with him.

“He’s a really good guy with a lot of space for improvement”

Chelsea return to action tomorrow when they host Stoke as they look to keep up the pressure on their top four rivals.

Then they face a London derby next Wednesday when they face Arsenal in a crunch clash.
