PUBG Xbox One UPDATE: Battlegrounds gets NEW patch on consoles – and here’s what it does

PUBG developer Bluehole has released another new patch on Xbox One.

The new Battlegrounds update gives players new ways to enjoy Squad mode.

The Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds can now play Squad mode as a one, two and three person team without matchmaking.

The patch, which is available now, doesn’t require a game update and won’t take the game offline.

“Xbox players, we will be deploying a patch at 3AM PST / 12PM CET which will allow you to enjoy Squad mode in all the ways possible,” Bluehole explains.

“You will now be able to play Squad mode as a 1, 2, or 3-man squad without having to matchmake with other players.”

Hopefully the next major patch will introduce the Miramar Desert map, which can be seen below…

The latest patch follows a recent update that addresses in-game lag.

“We have deployed a small patch to reduce the character position readjustment issue and further reduce intermittent in-game lag,” Bluehole explains.

The developer also released a server side patch that addresses an in-game crash.

“Quick update; we’ve released a server side patch this evening that addresses one of the lower frequency crashes as well as reduces intermittent in-game lag,” the company continues.

“In addition we’ve made progress on the authentication issue that many players have encountered and we hope to completely resolve that issue soon.”

Elsewhere, Bluehole is working to strengthen its cheat prevention measures.

“We’ve strengthened cheat prevention measures and continue to reinforce them,” Bluehole adds.

“We’ve also implemented various automatic and manual anti-cheat measures and thanks to all these actions have seen an estimated reduction of 65.7% in the number of players trying to use cheats.

“We are also continuing to actively remove banned players from our leaderboards.

“No online multiplayer game can remove all cheaters but we will continue to direct our best efforts towards reducing the number of cheaters as much as possible and maintaining a fair play environment.”
