Xbox One news: PUBG Battlegrounds reveal, GTA 5 Online update, Call of Duty WW2 release

PUBG Xbox One news has been coming thick and fast since the game launched earlier this month.

While Steam PC players now have access to the full title, Xbox fans are going to be waiting a while longer.

That’s because Battlegrounds on Xbox One is still very much in the early access phase, and is one of the most popular Game Preview titles currently available.

It was recently revealed that the popular Battle Royale title has now exceeded the 30 million player mark.

CH Kim, CEO of PUBG Corp. explained in a recent statement: “2017 has been a phenomenal year for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

“With over 30 million players globally across PC platforms and the Xbox Game Preview program, we owe the success we’ve experienced this year to the community, whose passion has inspired all of us here at PUBG Corp. to make the very best game we can.

“We’ll continue to fine tune the Battle Royale experience and will introduce additional in-game content, including new crates, to become available in early 2018.”

A new PUBG Xbox One update was also released this week, following the initial patch launched by Bluehole Inc.

This latest Battlegrounds update makes smaller fixes to the game, which is in need of as many performance boosts as possible.

PUBG on Xbox One is currently considered the lesser of the two versions available, with much needed to be done to raise it closer to the PC standard.

This latest patch includes an array of crash fixes, as well as a few quality-of-life tweaks that should make the game play a little better on console.

A new GTA 5 Online update has been released this week, adding an additional vehicle and Adversary Mode.

The Overflod Autrarch was launched alongside a range of new content for PS4, Xbox One and PC and is available to buy right now in-game.

The Slasher Adversary Mode, meanwhile, has been given a new twist in its latest iteration.

In Slashers, two teams will duke it out to the death in total darkness – the Slashers, armed with Machetes and Shotguns, against the Hunted, equipped with Thermal Vision and Flashlights.

As each minute passes, the team roles are reversed until one group has been wiped out completely.

From now until January 8th, Slashers will also be doling out Double GTA$ & RP.

It appears that a range of new content will be arriving as part of GTA Online for the coming weeks, with a range of new vehicles prepped for launch.

More could be launched after that, although Rockstar have not confirmed what their plans are for the game in 2018.

Call of Duty WW2 fans have been treated to some new news, as DLC 1 The Resistance gets a big new preview.

Sledgehammer has given fans an update on the new DLC, which is coming first to PS4.

Ahead of the add-on’s release date, Sledgehammer has previewed the game’s new maps, Nazi Zombies and more.

The developer has created three new Resistance themed maps, a brand new War Mode map and another Zombies adventure.

Valkyrie takes place in and around the bunker where resistance fighters unsuccessfully tried to assassinate Hitler.

Anthropoid, meanwhile, is set in Occupied Prague, and is said to feature a lot of height variation and narrow interiors. Occupation is a remake of a Modern Warfare 3 map.

Perhaps most exciting of all, Activision gave fans a look at the new War Mode adventure, titled Operation Intercept.

The first objective will revolve around the rescue of resistance fighters. Players must then capture radio equipment, before leading an attack on the Nazis.

As for Nazi Zombies, the new chapter is described as the most terrifying yet.

The new map adds fog to the mix, which should result in a host of scary scenarios.
