Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona: Man Utd deal in limbo as Atletico make transfer demand

Barcelona and Manchester United are both determined to sign Griezmann, whose future in the Spanish capital is uncertain going into the New Year.

The France international has recently rediscovered his goalscoring touch but, barring a late year goal glut, he has endured an infuriating campaign so far.

Barcelona appear frontrunners for Griezmann with the striker supposedly determined to stay in La Liga.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Atletico have told the Catalan giants how they can beat United to the player’s signature.

It is said Diego Simeone’s side would love to lure Vidal away from the Nou Camp.

The utility man has struggled to make an impact since signing from Sevilla in 2015.

Though he has won La Liga in the time since – and scored in the 3-0 El Clasico win over Real Madrid last week – his lack of game time means a parting of the ways could be in the offing.

And Don Balon claim Atletico want the Barcelona man in any deal that would see Griezmann make the move to Catalonia.

However, Sevilla are also interested in bringing back their former player.

Yet though Atletico have communicated with Barcelona, United will also be keen.

The Red Devils’ interest in the player dates back to the summer, where he seemed destined to seal a move to Old Trafford.

But that move fell through after Atletico were slapped with a transfer ban by FIFA.
