PUBG news: Xbox One update, Fortnite PS4 reveal, Battlegrounds free items

A new PUBG Xbox One update was released this week, following the initial patch launched by Bluehole Inc.

This latest Battlegrounds update makes smaller fixes to the game, which is in need of as many performance boosts as possible.

PUBG on Xbox One is currently considered the lesser of the two versions available, with much needed to be done to raise it closer to the PC standard.

This latest patch includes an array of crash fixes, as well as a few quality-of-life tweaks that should make the game play a little better on console.

The Xbox version is even further behind now that Battlegrounds on Steam has left early access. Version 1.0 introduced climbing and vaulting, which are said to severely change the game.

Players can now escape from danger and potentially sneak up on enemies hidden indoors. The newly revealed Miramar map, meanwhile, will provide players with new gameplay strategies.

It should be noted that killcams have also been implemented, meaning that fans will be able to look at how they died, and also check to see if there was any cheating involved.

PUBG fans can pick up free in-game items to celebrate the release of version 1.0.

Battlegrounds developer Bluehole is giving away free ‘Winner Winner Chicken Dinner’ T-shirts to anybody who plays the PC version within the next few weeks.

“This is the day we’ve all been waiting for and working towards, and it’s finally here,” Bluehole reveals.

“Today we come out of Early Access and everyone can enjoy the PC 1.0 version of our game. To celebrate this event, everyone who boots up PUBG in the next few weeks will get a new free in-game Winner Winner Chicken Dinner T-shirt.

“It will be dropped in your inventory after logging in. Do not miss this chance to get this limited edition T-shirt, let your PUBG squadmates know too.”

With PUBG 1.0 now available from Steam, Bluehole has also given fans a sneak preview of what they can expect in the coming weeks and months.

Number one priority is server stability, especially with the frequency in which the game goes offline.
