Gran Turismo Sport server issues – GT Sport fans hit by ne-21194400 error message

GT Sport players have reported issues with the hit PS4 racer, saying they’re getting a ne-21194400 connection error message when trying to play online.

Independent website Down Detector has been receiving reports of issues with GT Sport since Saturday.

The outage monitor first started receiving reports of GT Sport server issues around 8pm GMT.

The majority of issues revolved around server connection problems, with 93 per cent of players experiencing issues with it.

Some six per cent also had problems logging in.

Down Detector is an independent website that tracks social mentions around specific topics to detect outages across the world.

And more than 12 hours later GT Sport fans are still reporting issues with the PS4 on social networking site Twitter.

One user tweeted: “Just got GT Sport downloaded, only to discover the servers are down…Excellent”.

While another posted: “Bought myself #GTsport for a Christmas gift only to discover that the servers are down and I can’t play the dam thing.”

And one added: “GT Sport servers are down. You can’t save progress in offline modes, you can’t buy new cars either.

“This my friends is why you should never have DRM in games and why fans should not defend this sort of thing like I see fans doing.”

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy game director Kurt Margenau also tweeted about the GT Sport server problems.

He tweeted: “Servers are still down. Wouldn’t be so bad if you could save progress while offline. Who’s idea was this? #GTSport”.

GT Sport fans who have been having experiencing issues playing online have been busy contacting the Ask PlayStation UK Twitter account for assistance.

Responding to one fan who was experiencing issues with GT Sport, the Ask PlayStation UK Twitter account said: “Hi! Sorry to hear you’re having issues with the game!

“Unfortunately this is an in-game error so you’ll need to contact the publishers for more info and troubleshooting! Best of luck!”

So far the offical Gran Turismo Twitter account is yet to comment on the server issues affecting players.

In our 4/5 review of GT Sport, Express.co.uk praised the “hugely ambitious game” and said it’s “gorgeous to look at” with “tonnes of content available”.

We said: “As with any Gran Turismo game, it’s not perfect to start with – and you can be sure there will be plenty of updates down the line.

“But the drawbacks that are there aren’t enough to sour the experience.

“Polyphony Digital have been incredibly ambitious with GT Sport, trying to make a global game that jumps fully onboard the rise of eSports.

“It’s a modern reinvention of the Gran Turismo ‘Real Driving Simulator’ tagline that has existed since the original on the PlayStation.”
