STOKE 3-1 WEST BROM – RAMADAN

94: Game, set and match. Choupo-Moting strides into the West Brom half and unselfishly sets up Sobhi to score.

MANCHESTER CITY 4-0 BOURNEMOUTH – DANILO

85: They’re just unstoppable. Danilo adds the fourth when slotting home a Raheem Sterling cross.

SOUTHAMPTON 1-1 HUDDERSFIELD

83: Bad news for Southampton as Charlie Austin limps off with what looks like a serious hamstring injury.

MANCHESTER CITY 3-0 BOURNEMOUTH – AGUERO

80: City have barely been out of second gear but they’re 3-0 ahead against Bournemouth. Aguero nets his second of the afternoon when heading home Bernardo’s Silva’s cross.

STOKE 2-1 WEST BROM

77: Foster with a great save from a Shawcross header – however a free-kick is given to the visitors for a push in the box. There’s a goal left in this, I can feel it.

SWANSEA 1-1 CRYSTAL PALACE – AYEW

74: You just can’t stop these Ayew’s scoring today! It’s Jordan this time at the Liberty Stadium who draws Swansea level with a fantastic strike.

This is the third time that both Jordan Ayew and Andre Ayew have scored on the same day in the Premier League. Brothers.

BURNLEY vs TOTTENHAM

Burnley XI: Pope, Taylor, Mee, Bardsley, Long, Cork, Hendrick, Defour, Gudmundsson, Arfield, Wood.

Subs: Lindegaard, Lowton, Vokes, Barnes, Westwood, Walters, Wells.

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Dier, Aurier, Davies, Son, Eriksen, Alli, Sissoko, Kane.

Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Rose, Llorente, Dembele, Foyth, Lamela.

70: There’s a quarter of these games remaining folks. Plenty left in the balance. Where’s the late drama coming from?

WEST HAM 2-3 NEWCASTLE – AYEW

69: Redemption? Possibly. Elliot saves from Carroll’s header but he can do nothing as Ayew fires the rebound high into the net from close range.

SOUTHAMPTON 1-1 HUDDERSFIELD – DEPOITRE

65: Three in three for Laurent Depoitre. A few minutes after Charlie Austin missed a sitter, Depoitre nods home Tommy Smith’s cross from the right.

BRIGHTON 1-0 WATFORD – GROSS

64: Brighton have finally scored! You can’t say they don’t deserve it. Gross fires the Seagulls ahead from just outside the area, but Gomes should have done better.

WEST HAM 1-3 NEWCASTLE – ATSU

60: West Ham have paid the price for missing a penalty. Joselu breaks at speed and puts it on a plate for Atsu, who converts and sends Newcastle clear.

SWANSEA 0-1 CRYSTAL PALACE – MILIVOJEVIC (PEN)

59: Luka Milivojevic converts the penalty after Ruben Loftus-Cheek was fouled. That’s how you take a penalty, Andre…

WEST HAM 1-2 NEWCASTLE – MISSED PENALTY

58: Would you believe it! Antonio is fouled by Clark and wins the Hammers a penalty. Ayew steps up but Elliot saves down low to his left.

MANCHESTER CITY 2-0 BOURNEMOUTH – STERLING

53: Terrific finish from Raheem Sterling. That’s his 16th of the season! The winger runs on to a superb chipped pass from Sergio Aguero and finishes smartly.

WEST HAM 1-2 NEWCASTLE – DIAME

55: The Toon have completed the turnaround! It’s the former Hammer Diame with the goal. Atsu nutmegs Zabaleta, crosses and the midfielder is there to fire into the top corner.

STOKE 2-1 WEST BROM – RONDON

52: The Baggies aren’t done yet! Serious nerves around the Bet365 Stadium as West Brom pull one back through Rondon, who bundles the ball over the line.

WEST HAM 1-1 NEWCASTLE

51: The Hammers come close to a second goal but Marko Arnautovic’s shot is just the wrong side of the post. The former Stoke winger is playing out of his skin today.

BRIGHTON 0-0 WATFORD

48: Brighton attack and the ball ends with Hemed, who fires well over from the edge of the box. The Seagulls really have to be winning this.

BACK UNDERWAY

45: And we’re back underway folks. I’ve just seen that Frozen is on BBC1 right now. I give you full permission to switch it on and follow the football with me…

STOKE 2-0 WEST BROM – CHOUPO-MOTING

46: Huge relief around the Bet365 Stadium. Maxim Choupo-Moting rounds the goalkeeper to double the Potters’ lead on the stroke of half-time.

MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 BOURNEMOUTH

43: Ibe fronts up Otamendi and weaves his way into the City area and half-stumbles under a tackle. City then clear. The Cherries are giving it a decent go here.

WEST HAM 1-1 NEWCASTLE

40: Simple chance for West Ham’s Michail Antonio, but he heads a cross from the right well wide. Seconds before that, Adrian was beaten for a third time but Ritchie’s curler hits post. Pick a winner, I dare you!

BRIGHTON 0-0 WATFORD

37: Still nothing doing at the Amex. Brighton are bossing things but no clear-cut chances. Richarlison shot from the edge of the area lacks power and it’s a comfortable save for Ryan.

SOUTHAMPTON 1-0 HUDDERSFIELD

34: Lossl receives treatment; he collected the ball ahead of Austin in the area and was caught in the face by the striker. Lucky not to see red for that.

SWANSEA 0-0 CRYSTAL PALACE

31: Close. Loftus-Cheek curls an effort just wide of the far post. Swansea need to show some attacking intent because they’re just inviting pressure.

MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 BOURNEMOUTH – AGUERO

28: Sergio Aguero is back in the goals! The Argentine finds space at the back post to head home Fernandinho’s cross. Will the floodgates now open?

WEST HAM 1-1 NEWCASTLE

27: Chance! Masuaku wins the Hammers a corner and Cresswell swings in the delivery. Antonio rises highest in the box but heads just over Elliot’s bar.

SOUTHAMPTON 1-0 HUDDERSFIELD – AUSTIN

25: Why wouldn’t you start Charlie Austin?! Southampton’s most natural goalscorer is on the scoresheet after stooping low to nod home Wesley Hoedt’s flick-on.

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

24: Chance! Sniff of goal for Sergio Aguero, who gets on the end of Otamendi’s long pass and stabs at a looping effort at Begovic.

STOKE 1-0 WEST BROM – ALLEN

20: Mark Hughes punches the air in delighted because his side have taken the lead! He needed that. Joe Allen breaks the deadlock, turning in Crouch’s volleyed pass.

WEST HAM 1-1 NEWCASTLE

20: Gayle hits the bar! Newcastle spring forward down the right and the striker meets Yedlin’s cross, only to strike the ball against the woodwork!

SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 HUDDERSFIELD

19: Fraser Forster makes a superb reaction save from Christopher Schindler’s header to keep the score goalless. Southampton clinging on.

BRIGHTON 0-0 WATFORD

16: Watford don’t look like the same side that started the season on fire. Brighton are in control as they go searching for their first win since November 4. Saying that, Cleverley plays a corner direct to Pereyra on the edge of the box. The Argentine’s first-time volley flies wide of the post.

SWANSEA 0-0 CRYSTAL PALACE

13: Fabianski tips Townsend’s curling effort around the post. Roy Hodgson’d side are seeing all the chances with Swansea devoid of confidence.

WEST HAM 1-1 NEWCASTLE – SAVIET

11: Think we’ve found the match of the day folks! Henri Saivet, who made the error for West Ham’s opener, bends in a free-kick to draw Newcastle level.

SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 HUDDERSFIELD

8: The Terriers fancy their chances against a heavily changed Southampton side. Yoshida fails to deal with Quaner’s effort but Forster just about gathers.

WEST HAM 1-0 NEWCASTLE – ARNAUTOVIC

5: The first goal of the afternoon goes to Marko Arnautovic, who gets his third in four games. He gathers a loose pass from Henri Saivet and runs into the Magpies half before slotting in beyond Elliot.

MANCHESTER CITY 0-0 BOURNEMOUTH

3: It’s almost pointless telling you how things have started at the Etihad. Bournemouth are sitting deep and digging the trenches ahead of a long afternoon.

AND WE’RE OFF!

1: All the Premier League games are underway folks. Tons of goals last night, none this afternoon  – so by my calculations we’re in for a moderate number…

WILL HUGHES GET THE SACK?

14:59: With Paul Clement gone, Mark Hughes is now the Premier League boss peering most nervously over the edge.

The Stoke boss has railed against the notion that the game against West Brom is a zero sum game of win or be sacked.

But should the Potters slip into the relegation zone the notoriously patient Peter Coates could be forced to act. On the other hand victory, and a performance which suggests a positive direction of travel, could pull him back from the brink.

Either way, this is unlikely to be the Welshman’s most relaxing festive period.

CITY STAYING TOP OF THE TREE

14:56: Pep Guardiola’s side are guaranteed to be English football’s Christmas number ones, meaning only the margin of their lead needs to be settled.

They are overwhelming favourites to sweep aside Bournemouth on home turf – a result which would leave them with 55 points at the halfway point of the season.

Their closest rivals – geographically and mathematically – Manchester United are already 11 points shy meaning any further slip-up at Leicester could usher in the widely-expected procession.

VVD DRAMA…

14:55: It’s almost January, so that means Virgil van Dijk bingo is almost upon us.

Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester City and just about every club on the planet have been linked with the Dutchman.

And they’ve reasons to be cheerful because Mauricio Pellegrino has omitted him from today’s squad for no apparent reason.

Let the rumours begin!

AFTERNOON

14:50: Welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Premier League folks.

Sorry I’m late to the party, it’s crazy in Express HQ today and I appear to have been left to fly solo on these blogs!

I’m not complaining though. It was either this or joining my girlfriend for a late dash around an over-crowded shopping centre for Christmas presents.

There’s few things that could force me to endure that kind of hell…

Anyway, we’re almost underway and I’ll be keeping you updated with everything from around the grounds!
