Christmas Number 1 2017 REVEALED – Ed Sheeran, George Michael’s Wham! or Eminem?

It’s Ed Sheeran, whose track Perfect has amassed enough combined sales and streams to come out on top.

The track accrued a total of 85,000; with 150 streams accounting for 1 sale. 45,000 were actual, pure sales.

Sheeran finished in second as well, on guest vocal duties on Eminem’s track River.

Wham!’s Last Christmas, the centre of a campaign to get George Michael to the summit on the anniversary of his death, finished in a still-respectable third place.

It enjoyed huge momentum in the last few days, ascending to No1 on iTunes, but ultimately couldn’t quite topple Sheeran.

Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You dips two places to No4 – and is likely to plummet out of the charts altogether in the next week or two, along with Wham!.

Rita Ora’s Anywhere holds firm in fifth spot, with Big Shaq climbing two places to No6 with Man’s Not Hot.

The Pogues’ Fairytale Of New York is at No7, the first time it’s been in the Top 10 for a decade.

Over on the album chart, Eminem is king; with Revival selling upwards of 132,000 copies.

Sheeran’s Divide completes a year of domination as it finishes at No2, with the Top 5 completed by Sam Smith, Pink and Rag’n’Bone Man.

George Michael’s Twenty Five has risen four places to No11, and the soundtrack to Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives at No39.
