Meghan Markle wore this dress to meet the Queen – you won’t believe how much it costs

Meghan Markle wore Self Portrait today, a designer brand that has proven very popular with the fashion set.

The London-based label is designed by Han Chong, a Malaysia native, who studied at London fashion collage Central Saint Martins.

Other celebrity fans include Lucy Liu and Jennifer Lopez, so LA-born Meghan has not strayed far from her Hollywood roots with the style choice.

Meghan opted for the Nightshade Midi dress, which is £300, from the brand. The dress is currently on sale for £180.

Kate Middleton has also worn Self Portrait to the UK premiere of “A Street Cat Named Bob” in April 2016.

Kate’s dress was floor length and featured a 70s inspired sheer crochet top with long sleeves.

Meghan’s dress, on the other hand, is black, but features the romantic lace details the brand is known for.

The dress is also a midi length gown, with a black neck band.

Self Portrait said of the dress: “The Nightshade Midi dress is crafted from a combination of our specially design guipure lace and solid crepe skirt.

“The short sleeved bodice is fitted to the waist with a grosgrain waistband in contrast to the full silhouette of the tucked A-line skirt.”

However, Meghan’s earrings were worth significantly more. The Birks Snowflake Large Jacket Earrings retail at £4482.58.

Meghan was joined at the event by Lady Amelia Windsor, who is an Instagram sensation as well as being 36th in line to the British throne.

Lady Amelia is a model represented by the same agency as Kate Moss who has walked the runway for Dolce and Gabbana.

Meghan Markle arrived at the Queen’s Christmas lunch today, driven by her fiance Prince Harry

The newly-engaged couple, who will marry in May, were pictured leaving Kensington Palace in their black Land Rover Discovery this morning.

The invite will give Meghan a taste of royal festivities ahead of Christmas Day celebrations with the Queen at the Sandringham Estate.

Meghan will also be joined by Kate, Prince William and their two children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who were also pictured on their way to the palace.
