Prince Harry, 33, and Meghan Markle, 36, announced their much-anticipated engagement on Monday November 27.
The couple had been dating 16 months before the prince got down on one knee, and excitement is growing day by day for the wedding, which has now been revealed to be taking place on Saturday 19 May.
Kensington palace has also confirmed the nuptials will take place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
The wedding venue reveal came as no surprise as it has seen the wedding of many a royal there in the past.
The last wedding to take place there was the union of Harry’s father, Prince Charles, 69, and Camilla Parker Bowles, 70, in 2005, where they received a blessing from The Archbishop of Canterbury.
Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, 53 – the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip – and Sophie Rhys-Jones, 52, also married there in 1999.
St George’s Chapel is also the final resting place for monarchs including Henry VIII ad Harry’s great-grandmother, the Queen Mother.
But for those who do not know, what does the wedding venue look like inside?
Despite its grand appearance, the venue holds around 800 guests.
There were originally 50 stalls of the Knights and Canons, with 21 facing each other.
In the late eighteenth century, another two stalls were added, bringing the overall number to 52.
The building displays intricately carved stonework, a magnificent fan vaulted ceiling and beautiful stained glass windows.
Among the arms displayed in the chapel are those of Edward the Confessor, Edward III, Edward the Black Prince, Henry VI, Edward VI, Henry VII and Henry VIII.
The chapel dates back more than 500 year and ceremonies held there can be dated as far back as 1863, when King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra wed in 1863.
St George’s Chapel is a smaller venue than Westminster Abbey where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, married in 2011, and Charles, Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer tied the knot in 1981.
Westminster Abbey is significantly bigger than that of St George’s Chapel with a capacity of 2,000.
