Every Christmas, we tell stories about flying reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh. A subspecies of reindeer—wild Mountain Caribou—can still be found in the beautiful Selkirk Mountains in Washington and Idaho, but the last herd in the lower 48 is down to just 11 caribou.
