Sports Personality of Year 2017: BBC reveal voting figures as Mo Farah triumphs

The four-time Olympic champion secured 83,524 votes to take the crown ahead of superbike rider Rea’s 80,567. 

Para-athlete and Strictly Come Dancing star Jonnie Peacock came third with 73,429 votes. 

“It is pretty amazing and hard to think about,” Farah said after his win.

“I didn’t imagine I was ever going to win this but anything can happen. If you work hard you can achieve your dreams.”
