Leeds United managing director drops big hint about January transfer plans

Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen has repeatedly stressed that he is happy with his current squad but director of football Victor Orta is on the hunt for potential signings.

A £500,000 but he could be the only addition ahead of the second half of the campaign.

Kinnear wrote in the match-day programme: “The ability of the squad to cope so admirably with a number of injuries and the undeniable quality that has been shown by players taking their chance in the first team, either for the first time or in a different role, mean that our playing solutions for the rest of the season are more likely to come from inside than outside the existing squad.

“The January window will attract the usual media hysteria but it is notoriously difficult to navigate and secure both quality and value.

“If any business is done at Leeds United it will be focused, considered and founded on the meticulous analysis of Victor Orta and his team.”

are back in good form – the latest result a 1-0 success at home to – after a run of seven defeats in nine games.

They are seventh in the Championship table and Kinnear has been impressed by the team’s in recent weeks.

“The teams return to form has continued with two strong performances against and ,” he said.

“Despite securing a point against one of the more fancied sides in the division the mood in the dressing room and manager’s office after Aston Villa was one of bitter disappointment.

“There is a clear belief amongst the players and manger that they have the ability to win every game and nobody sets higher standards than those the group have imposed on themselves.

“The comprehensive result at QPR was our sixth away win of the season and whilst the result is all important the way the team responded to an indifferent first half and an unfortunate injury was impressive and illustrates how we continue to grow stronger as a group.

“Equally impressive was our phenomenal away support, even the announcement of a half-time Prohibition at Loftus Road could not dampen the passion or noise which undoubtedly inspired the team.”
