Fortnite COUNTDOWN – 50v50 Battle Royale end date, finish time for PS4 Xbox One

Fortnite players will see the 50v50 Battle Royale mode soon depart from the hit online PS4, Xbox One and PC game.

The Fortnite 50v50 mode was announced back at The Game Awards 2017 at the start of December, but is a limited time event.

The Fortnite 50v50 Battle Royale mode began back on December 8, and today is the last full day fans can jump on the Battle Bus to play it.

The Fortnite 50v50 Battle Royale mode has an end date of December 17, but no finish time has been set for it yet.

The official Fortnite Twitter account gives regular updates on when modes are set to leave the game and when new features are arriving.

So we’re expecting an finish time for the Fortnite 50v50 Battle Royale mode closer to when the limited time event will be departing.

Often when Fortnite modes leave the game or new updates are launched Epic Games takes the game’s servers down for maintenance.

No downtime to prepare Fortnite servers for the 50v50 mode leaving the game has been announced so far.

However, it will be worth keeping a close eye on the official Fortnite social channels to see if the game will be going offline for maintenance.

Express.co.uk will update this piece when it is revealed what time the event will be finishing, and if any server downtime is announced.

For anyone thinking of jumping into the Fortnite 50v50 Battle Royale mode before it finishes, here’s a reminder of its special rules:

• Friendly Fire Off (But you will still see hit indicators.)

• Limited visibility of non-squad teammates.

• Squad VoIP only.

• You can revive ANY friendly teammates.

• You won’t see non-squad teammates until you land.

The rules were revealed in a blog post published earlier this month that announced the new Fortnite Battle Royale mode.

Earlier this week the big Fortnite v.1.1.1 update was launched, and ahead of the patch becoming available to download servers were taken offline.

The Winter update, which signalled the start of season 2 of Battle Royale, went live after around an hour and a half of server maintenance.

The new Winter patch brought with it the usual bugfixes and tweaks, but also included some new festive weapons too.

A limited-time Snowball Grenade Launcher and festive Battle Bus was included in the new Fortnite Winter update.

There are also new emotes added to the game, as well as Season 2 gear dropping during the event, which is scheduled from December 14 and ending on February 20.

Epic also confirmed that the game’s Season store is being replaced with the Season 2 Battle Pass.

Players will need to level up their Battle Pass, with over 65 rewards unlockable by the end of the season – Epic says it typically takes 75 to 150 hours of play to get everything.

“We have a snow-packed update for you in our V.1.11 patch, including the beginning of Season 2 for Fortnite Battle Royale and the new Battle Pass,” a message from Epic Games teases.

“In addition, we have “The Fortnite Guide to Holiday Survival” Winter Event for Save the World, featuring global inventory, a new questline, holiday heroes, weapons, and an event currency store.”
