Jose Mourinho holiday plan

05:00: Jose Mourinho has joked that will take a trip across the Atlantic as soon as he believes Manchester United are no longer in the title race.

United returned to winning ways this evening with a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth after their defeat to Manchester City at the weekend.

And he mockingly stated he would have already booked his holiday to either Brazil or America if he thought otherwise.

“I said we play match after match and the next we have to try to win,” Mourinho told Match of the Day.

“We have a difficult one at West Brom and we try match after match.

“It is only over in May, if it is over now I go on holiday to Brazil or Los Angeles.”

Romelu Lukaku surprise

04:30: Alan Shearer has revealed he is surprised about Romelu Lukaku’s lack of reaction after scoring for Manchester United.

Lukaku has had his fair share of critics, as he appears to have struggled for confidence.

But he rose highest in the penalty area to head home a Juan Mata delivery in a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth at Old Trafford last night.

And Shearer was puzzled as to why the Belgian hitman didn’t enjoy his winner more over the Cherries.

“Unless there is something we are unaware of, it was a very surprising lack of reaction from Lukaku to his goal,” Shearer told BBC’s Match of the Day.

“Maybe that was in answer to the criticism he has been receiving.”

Paulo Dybala transfer suggestion

04:00: Jose Mourinho should do all he can to bring Juventus star Paulo Dybala to Manchester United in January, according to Ray Wilkins.

Recent reports have suggested Mourinho will be armed with an £80million budget to splash out on reinforcements when the window reopens next month.

Meanwhile, Dybala’s stock has continued to rise at Juve, and he has netted 12 times in Serie A this season.

And former United midfielder-turned-pundit Wilkins thinks Dybala is just the kind of player Mourinho must sign.

“If United sign him, good grief City will have to watch out,” Wilkins told Sporting Bet.

“He’s one of those skilful South American players that will light up the Premier League.

Eric Bailly injury claim

03:30: Mourinho says Eric Bailly may need surgery as he struggles to recover from an ankle problem.

Bailly has not appeared for Manchester United since their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in October.

The Ivory Coast defender was expected to return in mid-November but his comeback was delayed.

And speaking after United’s narrow 1-0 win over Bournemouth, Mourinho described Bailly’s injury as “serious”.

He then added that an operation was an option if “conservative treatment” didn’t work.
