BREAKING: Flights SUSPENDED at Toronto Pearson Airport after ‘customs breach’

Passengers travelling to the United States will be facing long delays just after 400 flights were cancelled due to the first major snowfall of the season.

US-bound travellers at Terminal 3 of the airport had to be reprocessed after the customs breach was identified.

While the airport did not reveal specifics of the incident it has advised passengers to check flight status before they travel.

Toronto Pearson Airpot said on Twitter: “The customs breach in Terminal 3, US departures has been resolved.

“We appreciate your continued patience as we work to resume normal operations.”

The delays come just a day after more than 400 flights were cancelled as the city was smothered with its first major snowfall of the winter.

The airport authority revealed that 194 inbound flights and 208 departing flights were cancelled as of 8.54pm (EST) on Tuesday.

As much as 10cm (4”) of snow had already fallen by the early hours of yesterday morning, Environment Canada said.
