Xbox One X games news: Enhanced list getting big update early next year

The Xbox One X enhanced games list already boasts some pretty big titles, and there’s still a lot more that could be added in the near future.

New titles have been confirmed since the Microsoft console’s launch in November and more are on the horizon.

Blizzard recently announced their own plans to release a brand new Xbox One X update for one of their leading titles.

“The Overwatch team is excited with great possibilities Xbox One X opens,” reads a Microsoft post.

“The team is currently exploring how the game experience can be enhanced on this platform to leverage the console’s incredible hardware, and is working on implementing 4K resolution in the game on Xbox One X.

“It is very important for the team to make sure the user interface looks natural on a truly big screen.

“We will share more details about our plans for 4K support on Xbox One X later.”

Game director Jeff Kaplan recently provided a short update on how this process is getting on, telling fans that a new update on the subject is coming.

“We’ll have more information early next year,” he revealed.

Until then, fans can enjoy the new Winter Wonderland event, which kicked off earlier this week.

The new limited time event runs until January 2 (UK) and will include a large array of new skins and modes to try out.

The Express has put together a new gallery showing off some of the best new Overwatch Winter Wonderland skins, which can be found below.

“From now until January 1, experience the holiday spirit with a brand-new brawl, Mei’s Yeti Hunt, and relive the previous Winter Wonderland’s magical moments by playing Mei’s Snowball Offensive,” the official Overwatch team teases.

“Players will also be able to unwrap loot boxes to collect last year’s festive fare in addition to 50 new holiday-themed cosmetics, including legendary skins like Snow Owl Ana, Avalanche Bastion, Beachrat Junkrat, Ice Fisherman Roadhog, Rime Sombra, and more.”

Mei’s Yeti Hunt is an asymmetrical game mode in which a team of five Mei characters hunt down a single Winston player.

Winston’s job is to search the map for meat-based power-ups that will fuel his ‘Primal Rage’.

If Winston succeeds in powering up before being captured, then the tables turn and the Mei team must escape.

Fans will also be pleased to find out that Mei’s Snowball Offensive is making a return.

The 6-v-6 game mode is essentially a giant snowball fight in which Mei’s primary fire only has one fire. The plus side is that it only takes one hit to kill an enemy.

Mei’s Ultimate unleashes an infinite flurry of snowballs, but only for a brief time.

This year’s Mei’s Snowball Offensive mode has been moved to the Black Forest arena map.
