Real Madrid news: Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi passes medical – report

Mauro Icardi has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks as Zinedine Zidane looks to add some bite to his attack.

Real are struggling for goals this season with Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema struggling for fitness and Cristiano Ronaldo misfiring.

Reports have suggested Icardi was set to have a medical this month ahead of a move to the Bernabeu in January.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon claim the Argentina international has now undergone the necessary tests in Italy and passed.

The report says he will not be the only Argentine to be soon making the move to the Spanish capital.

And it is said Icardi will be joined by Racing Club striker Lautaro Martinez who will link up with Real’s cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid.

Icardi has been in stunning form for Inter this season, scoring 16 goals in 15 Serie A appearances.

And he claimed this week he would not be leaving the San Siro, dismissing the reports of a medical with Real.

“A medical with Real Madrid? Nonsense,” he said.

“It’s not the time to talk about these things and in the end I’m not the one who handles these issues.

“However, I’m clear that I’m fine in Milan, everyone knows that.

“I love the city, I play a lot and I’m the captain of a great club: those are important things for me.”
