Call of Duty WW2 Winter Siege countdown: PS4, Xbox One event release date, time, Carentan

The WW2 Winter Siege seasonal event is about to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The first Call of Duty WW2 seasonal event has a December 8 release date, and runs until January 2.

Winter Siege is believed to have a 10am PST start time, which means UK users can start playing at 6pm GMT.

The imminent Call of Duty WW2 event features a wide array of different activities and bonuses.

This includes a frost-covered version of the Carentan multiplayer map. The winter-themed map will be available to all players for a limited time, and not just season pass holders.

Hardcore Call of Duty fans will be pleased to hear that Gun Game is also making a return.

The only downside is that Gun Game won’t be available until the second week of the event.

New Double XP playlists will debut each week, while Headquarters gets a festive makeover, complete with a Christmas tree.

Fans can also expect to meet a new Quartermaster named Captain Butcher, who will be selling Winter Siege Division uniforms, cosmetic items and weapon variants.

You can unlock a variant of each new weapon by accepting Special Orders from Major Howard. Likewise, players will receive a free supply drop each week by logging in.

“The Winter Siege is all about celebrating with the Call of Duty community,” said Sledgehammer’s Aaron Halon.

“There’s a ton of content for everyone to play during this time from a reimagined Winter Carentan multiplayer map that’s now packed with snow to Gun Game to Supply Drops full of winter-themed gear and content all available throughout the Winter Siege.”

The Winter Siege event kicks off just days after the start of Ranked Play Season 1.

“In Ranked Play, players will be matched up with opponents of similar skill and compete in 4v4 matches, also known as 8s, in game modes like Search & Destroy, Capture the Flag, and Hardpoint with eSports settings enabled.

“Winning a match earns points towards being promoted into the next tier. Losing a match, or forfeiting by leaving the game, will result in a penalty by loss of points.

“You’ll have until the end of Season 1 to play matches and be promoted through tiers before the placement season ends, setting up your first skill based tier placement going into Season 2.”
