Arsenal 6 – BATE 0: Gunners storm to Europa League victory as Walcott and Wilshere shine

The Gunners were already tough to the last-32 stage before kick off and Arsene Wenger rested the majority of his first-team stars.

And in front of a sparse crowd at the Emirates Arsenal put on a show.

Long-forgotten defender Mathieu Debuchy opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Theo Walcott slid home to double Arsenal’s lead.

Jack Wilshere then fired in a well-take effort two minutes before half time.

BATE defender Dzyanis Palyakow smashed into his own net after the break, and Olivier Giroud made it five when converting a spot-kick.

Mohamed Elneny even got in on the act, to complete the rout in north London.

Arsenal join fellow Premier League side Everton in the draw for the last 32.

The Europa League draw takes place on Monday 11 December.
