Man Utd news: Neil Lennon makes huge Paul Pogba claim after Champions League victory

Pogba provided the pass for Romelu Lukaku’s second-half equaliser and played the full 90 minutes as Manchester United secured their place in the Champions League knockout stage with the 2-1 win.

But Lennon was far from convinced with the France international in his post-match analysis.

Official UEFA stats showed Pogba’s pass accuracy was 81 per cent which was the joint second lowest of the United outfield players.

Lennon was critical of Pogba’s passing and claimed Pogba compares unfavourably to United legends Paul Scholes and Roy Keane.

He told Irish television channel TV3: “I know he set up the goal. [But] for me the goal was more about Lukaku than Pogba.

“The amount of times he gave the ball away cheaply under no pressure was a high percentage.

“That’s not what I would want from a £100million player.

“Compare Paul Pogba to Paul Scholes in terms of goals, assists, running the game, even with Roy [Keane] in his heyday and its night and day.

“He’s got no tactical discipline on the pitch.

“I think he’s got good qualities but for £100m I’m expecting a lot more from him.”
