The Blues failed to top their Champions League group tonight following a 1-1 draw at home to Atletico Madrid.
It means that Antonio Conte’s side progressed to the knockout stages as group runner-up and will now be unseeded for the last 16 draw.
However, Chelsea cannot face another English side or the winner of their own group – Roma – so it is looking highly likely they will play one of either Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain or Besiktas – if Liverpool and Spurs win their respective groups tomorrow.
Chelsea had already qualified for the knockout stages prior to tonight, but they fell behind when Saul Niguez headed home a corner at the back-post.
Stefan Savic turned Hazard’s cross into his own net to level the scores, but it was not enough to guarantee top spot.
Despite what looks set to be a dangerous next round clash, Hazard insists he is not worried.
“It’s not a problem who we get, we are Chelsea,” Hazard said.
“We are a top team too. We can do anything.
“Their goalkeeper was on fire.
“We should top the group but it’s a good draw, Atletico are very strong.
“We are happy.”
The draw for the last 16 will take place in Nyon, Switzerland on Monday, December 11.
