Star Wars 8 The Last Jedi: Does THIS prove a MAJOR character will be returning?

fans will be well aware that the new film trilogy has a number of nods to the original and prequel trilogies.

The return of Luke’s blue lightsaber from Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back is the main evidence of that, having been found by Rey in Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

But what about the Force ghosts of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Yoda last seen at the conclusion of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi?

and now it looks like the little green alien’s return has been confirmed.

Digital Sputnik is a company that supplies lighting equipment for films and it looks like they’ve just spoilt Yoda’s big comeback in The Last Jedi.

On their Facebook page, a now deleted post sharing the trailer for Mary Magdalene –  an upcoming film about Jesus’ follower – saw them make the reveal.

They wrote: “Another production where our lights shone. Yes, we illuminated Jesus.

“Edit: We’ve just realised we have illuminated Jesus AND Yoda. Tbc…”

The company have also worked on Rogue One, last year’s Star Wars spin-off, so it would make sense for Lucasfilm to use them again.

It’s rumoured that Yoda will appear to Rey as a Force ghost inside the original Jedi temple on Ahch-To.

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi will be released in UK cinemas on December 14, 2017.
