Star Wars: Luke Skywalker star Mark Hamill reveals which moment left him ‘TRAUMATISED’

In a new interview ahead of the Episode 8: The Last Jedi’s release date next week, the actor – who plays Luke Skywalker – was speaking about the ending of Episode 7: The Force Awakens.

Despite all the hype and physical training, Hamill famously only appeared for a few moments at the very end of the blockbuster.

“I thought, ‘Oh, baby, I’m back!'” he told Sunday Times of the showdown on Stakiller Base.

“And then the lightsaber flew to Rey. Are you kidding me? She didn’t even do any training.”

Speaking of the film’s climax, he added: “I mean, it was a cliff edge. This was a cliffhanger, right?

“They should have stamped ‘To be continued’ on my forehead.

“I was in such a state of shock. I hate to seem to take it so seriously, but it was traumatising.

“My wife had gone to bed, and I woke her up, opened the last page and said, ‘Look!'”

It is confirmed, however, that Luke Skywalker will play a much larger role in The Last Jedi, which finally releases next week.

It’s expected to have an enormous box office opening, thanks to the positive buzz around the work of writer-director Rian Johnson, who has already been given the green light to work on his own new trilogy.

Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi is out on December 14 in the UK.
