Liverpool news: Chelsea in frame to sign Mohamed Salah, Real Madrid favourites – bookies

Liverpool only signed Salah from Roma back in the summer, with the Egypt international returning to England two years after a disastrous stint at Chelsea.

However, the 25-year-old has taken the Premier League by storm, scoring 12 goals and weighing in with three assists to help the Reds challenge for the top four.

Real Madrid have emerged as suitors with Los Blancos keen to overhaul their faltering frontline at the end of the season.

And BetStars think that, though the La Liga giants are favourites to sign Salah along with Barcelona, a return to Chelsea is not to be ruled out.

Real are priced at 9/4 with Barcelona at 5/1 to land the Liverpool forward.

And you can also get odds for Chelsea to bring him back to Stamford Bridge at 14/1.

BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has set the Premier League alright this season, netting 12 league goals in his debut season for the Reds, and is currently the league’s top goalscorer ahead of Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero.

“It appears that Jurgen Klopp will have a fight on his hands to keep hold of his star man in January as the Egyptian’s goal-scoring prowess has sparked the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

“According to Egypt manager Hector Cuper, Spanish giants Real Madrid are already lining up a move for the Liverpool talisman.

“The Galaticos are the 9/4 favourites to add the Egypt international to their out-of-form squad, while their La Liga rivals Barcelona are priced at 5/1 to launch another bid for one of Liverpool’s star players.

“Meanwhile, Chelsea are the outsiders at 14/1 to re-sign their former player.”

Salah signed for Chelsea in January 2014 from Swiss side FC Basel.

But he left the club after just 19 appearances, signing for Fiorentina on loan.

He then went on to leave Chelsea permanently for Roma and his transformation from Blues flop to Liverpool hero has been nothing short of remarkable.
