New York manhunt underway after driver ploughs through pedestrians, leaving one dead

The hit and run driver ploughed through a group of pedestrians at 129th Street and Liberty Avenue, in the Richmond Hill neighbourhood.

One died on the scene, while a further three people were injured in the incident which police are treating as a deliberate attack following a dispute.

Two victims were taken to the nearby Jamaica Hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the third was hospitalised and is believed to be in a stable condition.

In addition two others were taken to the same hospital with stab wounds, which are alleged to be connected to the dispute.

Police have described the suspect as an adult male with a ponytail.

He is believed to be driving a white Hyundai Sonata.
