Margot Robbie reveals huge Harley Quinn news: Guess when she’s back in those tiny shorts?

Never has a beautiful woman in tiny shorts been so terrifying.

Robbie’s big screen incarnation of the DC villain stole every scene in Suicide Squad (even as she looted shop windows).

The movie, like every DCEU release so far, had a rather mixed reception, but teh Aussie’s star’s portrayal of Harley Quinn was universally praised.

So when will she be back? There is some very good news…

In a new interview Robbie said: “Harley’s one of those insane characters and people do seem to really like her, so I hope I get to keep playing her.”

As well as the talks about a Suicide Squad sequel, Robbie’s scene-stealing turn seems to have inspired the spin-off Gotham City Sirens. The movie will feature Harley with two other iconic DC villainesses – Poison Ivy and Catwoman.

But when exactly will we see Harley back on screen? There is some very good news, but possibly also some bad news about that iconic costume.

Robbie has been busy this year with two biopics. In I, Tonya she plays the outrageous biopic of disgraced Olympic ice skate Tonya Harding, while she switches centuries and classes to take on Queen Elizabeth I in Mary, Queen of Scots opposite Saoirse Ronan.

But she confirmed she will be back in the saddle as Harley Quinn “next year.”

Sadly she may not be back in those shorts…

After Suicide Squad hit cinemas and Harley’s teeny tiny shorts hit headlines, the hactress confessed she was not keen to see them return.

She said: “She’s wearing hot pants because they’re sparkly and fun. As Margot, no, I don’t like wearing that. I’m eating burgers at lunchtime, and then you go do a scene where you’re hosed down and soaking wet in a white T-shirt. It’s so clingy and you’re self-conscious about it.

“I’m not wearing hot pants next time.”
