Games with Gold December 2017 UPDATE: Final chance for these free Xbox One titles

The new Games with Gold December 2017 roster of titles will be going live in a few hours time, providing a fresh selection of games to download on Xbox One and Xbox One X.

Co-op first-person shooter Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide is the star of the show in December, although fans can also grab a copy of Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition.

Vermintide goes live first on December 1 and will be available to download on Xbox One the entire month.

Back to the Future goes live on December 16 and won’t be replaced until January 15, 2018.

So what’s still up for grabs?

Well, fans have a few hours left to download arcade racer Trackmania Turbo, which will disappear around midnight tonight.

“Do you have what it takes to post the fastest lap time? With four gorgeous environments, multiple difficulty levels and 200 tracks, there’s a ton to see and do,” the official games description teaes.

“There’s also the unique Double Driver mode in which two players control the same car! And let’s not forget the excellent soundtrack that reacts to your driving style.”

As usual, Microsoft’s Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program makes it possible to download the two Xbox 360 games on offer in December.

On Xbox 360, and Xbox One through Backward Compatibility, is the rhythm-action game Child of Eden created by Tetsuya Mizuguchi (best known for the classic Rez).

This will be the first classic Xbox 360 game to launch in December, followed by Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death on the 16th.

Child of Eden: “Experience the breathtaking sights and sounds of Child of Eden. With sound and vision in one display of synesthesia, Child of Eden brings simple, yet intuitive controls together with unique visuals and music that adapts to your playing style.

“Electrify your senses with this unparalleled music-action experience from Tetsuya Mizuguchi and Q Entertainment.”

Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death: “Jump into the action as Marlow Briggs in this 3rd-person hack-n-slash homage to blockbuster action movies and comic book heroes set in the Mayan jungle in Central America.

“Save your girl and save the planet with a little help from a 2000-year-old Mayan Death Mask.”

It should be noted that fans can also download November’s Xbox 360 game, Deadfall Adventure, which will be replaced by Child of Eden, tonight.

Deadfall Adventures: “Become an adventurer, travel the world, and hunt for treasure in Deadfall Adventures. The year is 1938, and you’re James Lee Quatermain, son of the renowned adventurer, escorting Agent Jennifer Goodwin to recover an ancient artifact in an Egyptian temple.

“In this first-person action-adventure game, immerse yourself in the lost world of Mayan ruins, forbidden cities and the deserts of Egypt.”
