PS Plus December 2017: Free PlayStation Plus games reveal a mixed bag for PS4

Ultimately, December’s PlayStation Plus free games will be seen as a boost to the program, with an interesting title being released.

While not the best reviewed game ever on the PS4, the PS3 remake of Darksiders 2 does provide a solid game to download next month.

It should be noted that the Deathinitive Edition includes all DLC, alongside updated graphics rendering and reworked game balancing.

The other PS Plus game being released in December, Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends, may not be quite as popular.

Reviewed only a few times on metacritic, it makes it difficult to work out a fair overall critic score.

Here’s an official Sony description of the gameplay included in Kung Fu Panda: “The premise is simple enough: one to four players hop into the arena as classic characters from the film series and go head-to-head to be crowned the ultimate kung fu master.

“Each character brings their own unique kung fu style to the mix as they battle it out across the Valley of Peace in numerous locations that will be familiar to anyone who’s seen the Kung Fu Panda films.

“It’s silly, simple-to-pick up and a great way to let off some steam.”

Another game available to play in December on the PS4 is Forma.8, described as a “a unique take on the proven Metroidvania action-adventure formula, with a striking visual style and a huge world to explore.”

“As the small exploration probe forma.8 you’re stranded alone on the surface of an alien planet.

“Separated from your companions by accident you have a life or death mission to accomplish: find and recover a lost, powerful energy source before it’s too late.

“Ancient civilisations, great perils and dystopian visions await you. And not everything is what it seems.”
