Today’s full trailer will likely give us our first clear glimpse at what to expect from the Marvel blockbuster, but in the meantime we just have minor tidbits to go by.
What is for certain is that the film opens on a group of Avengers torn apart after the events of Captain America: Civil War.
Over the course of the movie, they’ll join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Thanos – trying to collect the Infinity Stones in order to complete a gauntlet that will enable him to inflict his will on anything and everything.
What else can we figure out from what’s been teased?
Several rumoured stars appeared to be confirmed by the new Vanity Fair shoot, although it’s not entirely clear whether they’ll be in Infinity War or Avengers 4.
Gwyneth Paltrow, for one, is on there as Pepper Potts, after speaking in interviews about being on-set with her co-stars including Robert Downey Jr.
Linda Cardellini also appears, which is surprising: she plays Laura Barton, the wife of Hawkeye, who previously showed up in Age of Ultron.
In new pictures, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor is seen with his eye back to normal – despite appearing to lose it in Thor: Ragnarok. So does this mean he somehow gets it back?
He’s also wielding his hammer – so does this mean Mjolnir will be back in action?
Other details we can glean at this early stage include new blonde hair for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, and the distinct possibility that at least one key player could be killed off – after talk of a funeral scene at the start of Avengers 4 started doing the rounds.
