Meghan Markle appeared with Prince Harry – her fiance – for pictures this morning. The actress, 36, wore a white coat for her debut as an engaged woman – shunning Kate Middleton and Diana’s previous blue dress tradition.
This morning the official announcement regarding Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s engagement was made by Clarence House on Twitter.
Prince Harry spoke to the press confirming their happiness regarding the occasion, while Meghan stayed quiet.
The statement that read: “His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle.
“The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
“His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed her Majesty the Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents
“The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.”
The pair posed for pictures this afternoon looking smitten as they smiled for the camera.
It was reminiscent of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s post-engagement shoot in November 2010.
Everyone’s eyes were on the engagement ring worn by Meghan – reported to have jewels from Harry’s late mother Princess Diana’s collection.
The Suits actress was previously married but it looks like this love could be for-real with young hunky royal Prince Harry.
Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace will reportedly be their marital home, although Harry has recently acquired another property in the vicinity.

Meghan and Harry had very different upbringings with actress Meghan growing up in sunny Los Angeles.

Her real name is Rachel Meghan Markle, and her parents Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland split up when she was five.
Prince Harry, however, was educated at Eton College in Windsor from 1998 to 2003.
Despite their differences, it looks like the pair have proven that opposites attract and have made their love official just in time for Christmas.
