Xbox One news: PUBG update, Xbox One X games reveal, December Games with Gold

PUBG on Xbox One will be launching in the coming weeks, with developers Bluehole Inc. working on new content for the game.

Battlegrounds has become one of the most popular games on Steam and it won’t be long before the Battle Royale titles comes to console.

While still only confirmed for Xbox One, it appears that those hoping to see it launch on the PS4 may be waiting a little while longer.

It seem likely that Xbox One X will see a launch long before Sony’s PS4 Pro, though are still preparing to release the game on the Xbox Preview Program.

And PUBG fans have discovered a treasure trove of new items coming with update 1.0.

New items such as character skins, shoes, hats, parachutes and gloves are set to launch with the full PC release later this year.

There’s also a selection of Xbox-themed items that will presumably be available when the Xbox One release date rolls around.

The new items were discovered during Patch 1.0’s test server debut earlier this month.

Skin-Tracker has the full list of new items available as part of its 3D viewer.

The enormously popular shooter will be available from December 12 as part of the Xbox One Preview scheme.

The Xbox One X games list already has quite a few titles confirmed for it but not all of them have been released yet.

The official Microsoft websites shows all the currently confirmed games getting the upgrade treatment, with around 81 titles already available.

There’s also plenty currently in development, although no release date or timing has been given for their launch.

One of the clearest indicators that a game might be ready to go live is when its status changes from ‘in development’ to ‘coming soon’.

This recently happened to one of Bethesda’s most popular games, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Skyrim Special Edition on Xbox One X will benefit from new 4K Resolution support, and dynamic resolution.

And it’s not the only Bethesda title with Xbox One X updates in its future.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has already been patched, along with popular MMO, the Elder Scrolls Online, Dishonored 2, and horror adventure, The Evil Within 2.

Fallout 4 is another game getting the Xbox One X treatment, with 4K Resolution, dynamic resolution enhanced draw distance for trees, grass, objects and NPCs, as well as enhanced God Ray effects also confirmed.

December’s Games with Gold selection for Xbox One and Xbox 360 have been announced by Microsoft.

The official list of titles were announced earlier this week and are primed to go live on December 1.

It should be noted that not all of the games listed will be available on the first day of the month, with the usual mid-month refresh being planned.

The full list of December Games with Gold titles are as follows:

  • Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide: Available December 1 to December 31 on Xbox One
