The special guests and the waitstaff

The Minions are saying “Bello!” to Orchard Central, in Singapore. The miniature creatures from the Despicable Me franchise are at the heart of a pop-up cafe that’s openĀ from now until 31 January. (“Bello” is Minion-speak for hello, if you weren’t sure.)

The concept pop-up cafe is brought here by the same people who brought us the Pokemon Cafe last year. Exclusive merchandise will also be sold at a shop accompanying the cafe.

The menu includes a variety of desserts, including mango pudding and s’mores.

Bananas are on the menu, of course — they’re the minions’ favourite!

If you’ve brought your kids here and find yourself in need of a coffee fix, there’s an affogato too. We’re not sure why Mel’s been put behind the glass though.

But if you came hungry, there’s finger food to share.

If your stomach has room for more, there are bigger portions.

Don’t worry about the grumpy face sitting on top of your food. We’re told the decoration is made of a rice-based wafer, so it’s safe to eat too.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. A total of 14 different items are on the menu at the Minions Cafe. They all look pretty, but don’t expect to be blown away by the taste. Gru and two larger Minions made an appearance at theĀ media preview.

Friendly waitstaff also wear a Minion-inspired uniform.
