The Last Jedi isn’t even out and yet Star Wars Episode IX director Abrams, who also helped The Force Awakens, has revealed the film’s plot to one lucky fan.
The filmmaker appeared at Night Of Too Many Stars, a charity event to help people with autism, and auctioned off a whispered reveal.
The final film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy won’t hit cinemas for another two years, so this was one mighty opportunity.
Eventually the bidding reached a grand total of a whopping $10,000, before the winner was called to stage.
However before approaching Abrams, the lucky fan had to sign a nondisclosure agreement presented by a group of stormtroopers.
And when about to have Episode IX’s plot whispered in his ear, Rob Corddry came on stage and said he would reveal the plot of Hot Tub Time Machine 3 in the winner’s other ear.
If things couldn’t get any worse, Gilbert Gottfried arrived and said he would spoil Sharknado 5, a film that’s already out but the comedian reckons no one went to see.
Presumably having two other plots spoken at the same time as that of Star Wars Episode IX was a way of making sure Abrams wasn’t heard on microphone and maybe even to confuse the winner.
