Now a new documentary film following the final year of the Obama Administration is being released and the first trailer shows his White House advisors reacting to the result.
The glum faces of Former US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power and Ben Rhodes, Obama’s Deptuty National Security Advisor, says it all in this first look.
It’s too much for Rhodes, who has to go outside to get some fresh air and keep calm.
The former Obama advisor said: “I just came outside to try to process all this. It’s a lot to process.”
The Final Year is a unique insider’s account of President Obama’s foreign policy team during his final year in office.
The 44th President himself and Secretary of State John Kerry appear to take centre stage as they travel the world to secure policies that they hope will define their legacy.
Filming began in late 2015 and only wrapped at 4am on the morning of January 20th this year, just hours before the inauguration of President Trump.

The film has been praised, with The Hollywood Reporter calling it “Compelling and irresistible.”
The Final Year will be released in UK cinemas on January 19th 2018.
