James Bond 25 news: 007 producer teases BIG announcement by New Year

A few months ago the 25th official James Bond movie was confirmed with a release date set for November 2019.

Despite speculation Craig had quit, the 49-year-old star revealed soon after that he would in fact be returning for a fifth and final 007 outing.

Nevertheless the film’s title (rumoured to be Shatterhand), cast and director are still yet to be announced and now producer Broccoli has given a much needed update on where things stand.

Speaking with RTE Entertainment, the producer – who was promoting her new spy film The Rhythm Section – teased the possibility of taking Bond to Ireland.

She said: “We love being here, we love the Irish crew… It’s just the people; it’s the welcoming spirit of the people that’s just so lovely.

“Let’s see, maybe we’ll try and get Bond here at some point. I must say, having experienced it, I would love to come back.”

But when it specifically came to the next 007 instalment, the producer teased: “We’ve got the biggest and most important piece in place, which is Daniel [Craig]. I’m very happy that he’s coming back.

“So, to me, that’s the crucial thing… We’ve got our Daniel; we’ve got to find the director. We’re working on the script and we’ll see… Hopefully by the beginning of the year we’ll have more news on all those fronts.”

The director previously helmed Craig’s last two outings, Skyfall and Spectre.

James Bond 25 will be released in UK cinemas in November 2019.
