This is the one time of year where you can easily get away with double sequins, making this cute sequin co-ordinate at the top of our shopping list.

Try silver washed jeans this season

The denim momentum has not slowed down yet and as design companies work out new finishes and treatments, denim has gone from a workwear item to party perfect dressing.

These incredible, metallic wash jeans are great for those looking for an outfit that takes them into the evening without being a typical ‘dressy’ look.

With a good amount of stretch, these Red Herring at Debenhams jeans are easy to dress up with a complimentary silver weave blazer.

Better still both these items can be worked back into your wardrobe with more casual pieces, such as teaming the blazer with black jeans or wearing metallic jeans in the day with a cream sweater.

Don’t forget the accessories, we love this reflective, silver bag from Moschino.

A metallic handbag is something you will pull out every season so splashing out on this designer version is a real investment.

Try a t-shirt under a party dress

While the space age trend relies largely on silver hues, the high street has offered up metallic versions of several of our favourite colours and this pink strapless dress with a metallic woven thread from Forever Unique is a great example of how to do this trend in a really pretty way.

This gorgeous full skirted dress (with pockets!) is a really flattering fit as it nips you in at the waist, creating an hour glass silhouette.

This dress is very much on the occasion wear side of party dresses but take a leaf out of Kate Moss’s book and pair down strapless dresses by wearing them over a t-shirt, like this Versus Versace piece from Very Exclusive, this instantly adds a more casual vibe.
