Real Madrid star’s mum: My son is still a CHILD and I need to support him

The 20-year-old hit the big-time when he joined Real Madrid for £20million on a six-year deal in July.

He has played seven games for the 10-time Champions League winners and will lock horns with his brother Lucas in the Madrid derby on Saturday.

But Theo’s mum Py Laurence isn’t letting her youngest son get too carried away.

She told Spanish newspaper Marca: “He is a child and he needs the support of his mother and brother!”

Py will cut a nervous figure at the Vicente Calderon when her two boys go head-to-head.

Both harboured dreams to become pro footballers since they were kids and now they are set for one of the biggest stages of them all – the Madrid derby.

She said: “I couldn’t ask for more. [Zinedine] Zidane is very happy with Theo.

“I still can’t believe his evolution, as two years ago he was on the bench.

“His dream was to get to where he is. He’s very happy, he doesn’t regret anything.

“I always give him advice, to work and fight.

“He still has room for improvement.

“I tell him that he has to give everything, he has to learn a lot, to fight and to be serious and responsible.”
